Abstrak This research paper entitled A Conflict Analysis of Main Women Characters in “Mereka Bilang, Saya Monyet! By Djenar Maesa Ayu is conducted through feminist point of view. The fact that women and children have become subordinate class in the society nowdays evokes Djenar Maesa Ayu, as the author, to bring this issue to the surface. The method of research in this paper is descriptive qualitative method. The method is used to answer the following research questions: (1) what conflicts are faced by the main women characters? (2) what factors trigger the conflicts? and (3) how does the author portray the issue of feminism as evidenced in the short stories? The writer also sees the issue of feminism in the society as a subject of investigation for the paper. Conflicts can be the factor that triggers women subordination. In the light of feminist literacy criticism, the writer will analyze the action done by the main women characters. Indirectly, the action to struggle against oppressions can determine the position of main women characters.
